| Q:
What is the difference between a trade book and a short-discounted
book? |
- Trade
books are the most readily available books
on the market and carry the highest discounts. These
are the majority of books you will find in our catalog.
Trade books are those from Microsoft Press, O'Reilly,
Sybex, Wrox Press, IDG, Coriolis, Prima, Charles River
Media, Wordware, 29th Street Press, and Manning Publications,
to name a few.
- Academic
and professional reference books (textbooks and scholarly
publications) are also known as "short-discounted"
books. These books are typically special order
items which are not kept in stock and not sold at a
discount.
-
Some publishers
publish both trade and short books. This can be confusing, so please
ask us for a quote if you are uncertain.
